Anthracite Stories Book Club

Join the museum educator for the launch of the Anthracite Stories Book Club. This quarterly book club will read stories of and related to Anthracite Heritage, coal mining, and the Scranton area. Registered club members will receive 10% off the quarter’s book when purchased in the Museum Store and a free bookmark. Discover great reads, make some bookish friends, and enjoy refreshments. (When available, we will meet the authors.)
Pre-registration is highly encouraged!
First book club meeting: Saturday, 1 November | 11am -12:30pm
Our first book will be Currents in the Electric City, A Scranton Anthology. We are reading the following selections:
- “Escape Plan” by Amye Archer
- Two Poems by John (Jack) E. McGuigan
- “Not from Here” by Maria Johnson
- “The House on Frink Street” by Dawn Leas
